This gun safe is easy to operate and open. It appears to be secure and will serve its purpose in our household for keeping our small children away from the pistols we have. With children in the house, you can not be too careful but an unloaded gun is only as good as a rock in defending those children. This is the answer. Children don't even look at it because it is a boring and non-descript black, they cannot get to the gun, but I can, in a second (I timed it). I am very pleased.

I see this as an advantage because a heavy safe is not going to be picked up and taken away to be opened. It would be too time consuming and risky for any burglar to do this. As long as you don't plan on moving from home to home every couple of years then this safe should be just fine tucked away in a closet somewhere.
